Setting up an artificial Christmas tree every year can be daunting, especially for those who find attaching parts, string lights, and shape branches challenging. With a Balsam Hill Flip Tree, the setup process becomes nearly effortless, allowing you to skip the hassle and dive straight into the joy of decorating and celebrating with your loved ones.

All About Flip Trees®: The Balsam Hill Guide

Step 1: Wheel To Display Area

Roll the tree’s bottom section from the shipping box to your chosen location, then remove the storage bag.

Step 2: Lock the Wheels

Step down on the locking feature of each wheel to secure the stand.

Step 3: Flip the Tree Base

Press the foot pedal on the same side as the stand bar to unlock the base. While pressing the pedal, flip the tree base towards you until it locks into place.

Step 4: Attach the Tree Top

Take the tree’s top section out of its storage bag, then insert it into the pole of the base. If you have a tall tree, its top may come in two parts. For pre-lit models, ensure the central pole plugs are aligned when attaching the treetop to connect the light strings properly.

How Do You Set up a Balsam Hill Flip Tree?

Balsam Hill trees are compressed for shipping and require shaping to achieve a full look. Follow the steps below or read our guide to shaping your tree for more detailed instructions.

Step 1: Use Safety Gloves

Protect your hands with the gloves provided in the welcome kit.

Step 2: Pull the Branch Tips Upwards and Outwards

Start by shaping the inner tips of each branch. This will help hide the trunk and make the tree look full. Angle any side branches out and away from the main branch.

Step 3: Step Back and Survey the Tree

Check the tree for any gaps that may require more fluffing. Pay special attention to the parts where tree sections come together.

How To Shape the Branches

A Flip Tree is an easy Christmas tree to set up and store. Here are the steps to take down your tree and preserve its beauty for seasons to come:

Step 1: Remove Decorations

Unplug your pre-lit tree and remove all decorations.

Step 2: Disassemble Tree Parts

Detach the top section and place it in the treetop bag. Arrange the treetop so that the clear plastic lining protects its pole.

Step 3: Unlock the Tree

Press the foot pedal on the side of the stand to unlock your tree. Flip the tree base toward you until it automatically locks into storage mode.

Step 4: Place Tree Base Into Storage Bag

Pull the storage bag over the tree base, positioning the zippered opening directly over the bar of the stand. The tree base pole should go through the hole at the top of the bag. Close the bag and buckle straps to secure it.

Step 5: Wheel Into Storage

Unlock the wheels and roll your tree into storage. Choose a cool, dry space to prevent damage during the off-season.

<p>Your Balsam Hill tree is packaged for easy unboxing. Getting it ready to decorate is a 1-person job that takes minutes. For decorating, however, we recommend bringing the family in on the fun.</p>
<p>Each tree comes with a scratch-proof stand with rubber feet to protect your floors and fabric gloves to protect your hands during setup and shaping. Once you have the tree in its stand, the hinged branches will fall into place.</p>
