Balsam Hill ® : Artificial Christmas Trees by Needle Type

Balsam Hill artificial Christmas trees come in three different needle types. Each needle type has a unique look and beauty. Some Christmas trees feature one needle type exclusively while other trees combine more than one needle type to produce a distinctive look.

The first needle type is our exclusive True Needle ® foliage. These needles are made of molded PE and are designed to match the color, shape, and texture of real tree needles. True Needle ® foliage is used extensively within our Signature Collection to create our most realistic and luxurious trees.

The second needle type is Pine Needle foliage. These needles are made of PVC and realistically mimic the hard and long needles of a natural pine tree. Pine Needle foliage is used in several trees within our Classics collection as well as as a secondary needle type on some of our Signature Collection trees.

The third needle type is Classic Needle foliage. Classic needles are made of fine strands of PVC which resemble natural evergreen needles. Balsam Hill® uses these resilient, flexible needles as the primary foliage of many of its Classics Collection trees as well as a secondary needle type for many of our other trees because of its superior ability to block light and create a “full” look to any tree.
